The next day I leveled the washing machine as best as I could and everything seemed to be fine again, the machine sounded just fine when it was on the spin cycle. The next time I used the washer the washing cycle would not finish, it would stop between the rince and spin cycle and the time remaining would just stay at 19 minutes.

Whirlpool washers are not usually supposed to spin and drain at the same time. If the tub is full of water when it's trying to spin, it will spin very slowly. It's supposed to drain all the excess water out and then start spinning. Of course, this is based on the assumption that you have the most popular design of their washer.

My 1988 Whirlpool washer, Model LA7000XS, stopped draining and spinning. It would fill and agitate but when it came time to drain and spin, nothing. The motor did not try to run and the timer stopped at that point.

Our washer now takes two hours to run a permanent press cycle. It just seems to keep adding water draining and adding more water. Not sure what's wrong. It is a front load washer.
This drain pump has two ports for water to pass through: a large one, and a smaller one. This part is used to remove water from the tub during the drain cycle. If your washer is leaking, not draining, pumps but will not spin or fills and drains at the same time you may need to replace the pump.
